RECLAIM - An Art and Meditation Exhibit
A great big thank you to the artists and attendees that helped make RECLAIM a beautiful event!
As part of our exploration of art, meditation, and community, Meditation 719 hosted RECLAIM, an art and meditation installation. The event was held during the October 2022 First Friday events in Colorado Springs. This exhibit offered an inspirational look into the unique vision each artist held of what it meant to reclaim. With powerful messages shared by artists and guests alike, we were reminded how the human spirit holds an inspiring ability to reclaim what is most important.
We deeply appreciate the warm welcome the show received. We were honored to have 15 local artists participate and over 150 guests. In addition to the art and conversations, there was also a unique twist; a Silent Disco Meditation with two options to choose from for the Reclaim Meditation. The first option offered the meditation with background music with theta waves, bringing the listener into a deeper meditation. The second option had music with beta waves, offering an active and more focused style of meditation related to problem-solving abilities.
Which would you choose? The option chosen the most was the theta version, though people had fun alternating and sharing experiences about the impacts of each. Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to holding the next event in spring 2023!
If you missed the event but are interested in listening to the meditation you can find it here, or on your favorite podcast provider @Oneness Unfolding.
Thank you to the following artists for sharing in this vision of RECLAIM and for contributing your time and effort to make this show truly inspiring!
Jenni Ashby, Laura Gates Brown, Luca Kimlicko, Kayla Lee, Rob Lessig, Paula Mayer, Nora Murphy, Annie Pieper, Lily Peterson, Garrett Roybal, Jon Sargent, Devin Solano, Bill Stone, Cienna Weiss-Sullivan, & Deb Yarra,

Friday Night Creatives: Meditation and Mandalas
Our meditate and create gatherings help us to tune into our core selves, connect with community, and share in the joy of creative expression. During our upcoming Friday Night Creative's event we will create mandalas that reflect our journey toward balance and symmetry. Mandalas are paintings that visually reflect our inner selves and our connection to the universe. The practice of creating mandalas fosters centeredness and increases concentration and awareness of self.
Whether you are new to meditation or a regular practitioner, we will guide you through a meditation to tune in to sensations, colors, shapes, and explore your authentic self without judgment. Creating mandalas is a meditative practice that celebrates the connection between our artistic expression and our reflective nature. Ultimately, the mandalas we create illustrate the abstract story of our deeper self.
Creating art can sometimes feel intimidating, but this class is an invitation to rekindle your connection to your inner wisdom and take steps toward valuing your creative expressions without concern for the final product. When we empower ourselves to acknowledge and reclaim our spirit, our experiences become opportunities for transformation and growth. Friday Night Creative's will be starting soon, if you'd like to be notified when events are scheduled, follow the "contact us" link below.

“I sketched every morning in a notebook a small circular drawing…which seemed to correspond to my inner situation at the time…only gradually did I discover what the mandala really is…the Self, the wholeness of the personality which if all goes well is harmonious.” |
